UNIT 3 · LESSON 10 · 60-MINUTE SUGGESTED PLAN

Citation सच में मौजूद है?

Check that a source exists and supports the claim.

Understand

A plausible-looking book title or URL may be invented. Check the organisation, publication, date and the actual passage. A real source may still be cited for something it does not say. If a link fails, do not invent its contents; find another accessible reliable source or leave the claim unresolved.

Original classroom scenario / sample claim
A fictional answer cites “NCERT Universal Facts, page 999” without providing a verifiable book or edition. It claims the citation alone proves its statement.

Try it and check it

  1. Identify the missing bibliographic information.
  2. Describe how you would locate an official publication listing.
  3. Use an accessible textbook passage of your choice to demonstrate a genuine claim-to-source match.
  4. Mark the fictional citation as unverified rather than pretending you read it.
Without a device: Print this lesson, use paper cards or the supplied fictional text, and discuss the checks in pairs. A student can later enter their own notebook record for teacher review when a device is available.

Notebook: write your corrected or unresolved conclusion, the evidence you actually checked, and a reflection. Do not include passwords, identity documents or private information. Original BrainCheck companion content, BCAI-v1.

QUICK CHECK • PRACTICE FEEDBACK

A real webpage exists, but it does not discuss the answer’s claim. Is that citation sufficient?
