Photo/video का context जाँचें

Avoid deciding authenticity from appearance alone.

Name: ____________________ Class: ______ Date: __________

An authentic old photograph can be shared with a false new caption. AI-generated media can also appear convincing. Visual oddities are clues, not a definitive authenticity test. Examine source, date, context and corroboration. Do not upload a classmate’s face or private media to a detector.

A fictional forwarded picture is captioned “Today at our school” but has no original source, date or location evidence.
  1. Write down which parts of the caption are factual claims.
  2. List checks for the earliest available source, original date and location.
  3. Explain why realistic appearance alone cannot establish the caption.
  4. Choose Verified, Contradicted or Not enough evidence and justify the choice using only the available information.

Quick check

What can a realistic-looking image establish on its own?

○ Its exact capture date

○ Its exact location

○ That its caption is true

○ None of those facts on appearance alone
