Recommendations को समझें

Explain why a personalised suggestion is not proof of quality.

Name: ____________________ Class: ______ Date: __________

A recommender may use past clicks or similar users to rank items. Its goal could be engagement, sales or another measure. A high-ranked item is a suggestion, not a verified statement about truth, health, quality or suitability. Different profiles may receive different lists.

A fictional reading app says: “This story is recommended to you, so it must be the most accurate history source.”
  1. Create two fictional readers with different interests. Do not enter classmates’ real browsing histories.
  2. Predict how each reading list might differ.
  3. Explain why interest and factual accuracy are different criteria.
  4. Choose a textbook or museum source you would use to verify a historical claim in the story.

Quick check

What should you do before treating a recommended story as a factual source?

○ Check its factual claims against reliable evidence

○ Count the colours on its cover
