UNIT 4 · LESSON 15 · 60-MINUTE SUGGESTED PLAN

Fairness: किस पर असर पड़ता है?

Evaluate a decision using relevant criteria and evidence.

Understand

A decision system may disadvantage a group when its criteria or data omit relevant circumstances. Fairness needs context: identify the purpose, affected people, relevant criteria and opportunities to challenge errors. Do not use a protected trait as a shortcut for a person’s capability. Use entirely fictional cases in this exercise.

Original classroom scenario / sample claim
A fictional club selection rule uses expensive-device ownership as the only sign of interest in science.

Try it and check it

  1. Identify who might be excluded despite genuine science interest.
  2. Explain why the chosen proxy is weak.
  3. Propose accessible evidence of interest, such as a paper experiment or explanation.
  4. Describe how a student could request review of an incorrect decision.
Without a device: Print this lesson, use paper cards or the supplied fictional text, and discuss the checks in pairs. A student can later enter their own notebook record for teacher review when a device is available.

Notebook: write your corrected or unresolved conclusion, the evidence you actually checked, and a reflection. Do not include passwords, identity documents or private information. Original BrainCheck companion content, BCAI-v1.
